Translations are often treated as an intermediate stage in elaborating the final product (user manuals, brochures etc), but when it comes to the look of the completed document, its formatting, division of words, lines and other factors characteristic of the language - that are actually essential. Selecting the correct fonts, using the correct diacritical signs and making sure appropriate abbreviations are used, often requires additional extensive post-translation work.
All these details must be considered and implemented precisely. Traditionally, this is a DTP operator's task, but rarely are they familiar with the target language. As a result, errors occur which have to be dealt with during multiple laborious proofreadings...
This can be avoided!
How? By combining the translation process with the computer typesetting process. Our DTP studio utilises a wide spectrum of computer typesetting programmes and specialist tools which unite the CAT programmes used by translators with the DTP programmes.
