| Commenting in Adobe Acrobat Reader programme
The next most useful feature in the translator's arsenal is the commenting tool available in certain computer programmes.
This allows the reader to add notes and suggestions to a document without actually changing its content. In this way, the person overseeing the translation project (editor, project manager etc) may return the translation for correction or adjustment by marking the areas to be changed, or suggest alternative words and phrases. Also, at the initial ordering stage, the translator may receive text for translation with comments on the text or areas which need special attention already marked.
Commenting is also an individually trackable feature, and when many people are working on a single document it allows for group communication with reference to specific parts of the text (email is clumsy and slow when it comes to specifying detailed changes and corrections).
In order to use Acrobat's commenting feature, you need to turn it on within Adobe Acrobat Reader. Below we show you step by step how to do so, and how to use the commenting tool.
Note! In order for this option to be available in the Adobe Acrobat Reader programme, the person who created the .pdf document must have set the permissions to allow use of the commenting correcting option.

Click the thumbnails to start a slide show. Move to the next slide by clicking on the right side of the picture and the previous slide by clicking on the left. Explanations of what you're seeing appear under the slides.
Right-click in an empty area of the tool bar. Select Comment & Markup. |
The Comment & Markup menu will appear.

Select the Highlight Text tool. |
Select the text fragment to be changed.

Click twice within the yellow highlighting. A window will appear in which the corrected text should be entered.

Click the icon in the top right corner of the window to hide it. To remove the note and highlighting, click them and press Delete on your keyboard.
