We try to abide by the following rules when collaborating with external contractors:
- Every translator first receives an inquiry by email as to whether they can take the job. The inquiry message includes:
- The document in question,
- Proposed rate,
- Word count (according to source language),
- Required deadline,
- Any additional information, databases, reference files etc.
- If a translator replies positively to the inquiry, this is immediately confirmed by return of email with a re-cap of the agreed conditions.
- We reserve the right to re-assign the order to another translator if we do not receive a reply to our initial inquiry within a short time.
- Calculations.
- For contract work, we close on the 20th of each month with a week's payment deadline.
- Translators issuing invoices receive payment in their virtue within 30 days at the latest.
The basis for payment is the number of words in the source text and any other fees specified in the order.
- All translations are subject to standard checks, and when necessary, are sent back to the translator for correction.
- Our staff are always willing to help in case of any doubts regarding the order, however we do ask that you send your questions during translation so that the translation sent by the deadline is the finished article. Please do not send unfinished work with questions and doubts attached!
- As a 'finished translation', we expect careful work consisting of verified, correct terminology, without spelling, stylistic, punctuation and printing errors. Texts must also be correctly formatted (single non-printed characters, appropriate tabulators, indention, interlines and when necessary, columns and tables).
