Training for translators shortly!
In response to the need for training adapted to the requirements of translation services suppliers, the sector characteristics and market requirements, we plan to create a comprehensive offer of training for translators and others interested in further education in this and allied disciplines. The training will not be focused on language acquisition - from our experience it is evident that translators (most often already having philological education) much more frequently struggle with technical problems – operation of CAT tools, text editing programs, graphic programs and others. It is indeed this that we know very well and it is this knowledge, which we wish to share! Furthermore in purpose prepared workshops, we will present to those considering a career as a professional translator, the problems, pitfalls and chances associated with entering the translation market, being self employed, co-operation with agencies and publishers and other practical aspects in this extent.
Jointly with the firm STI, which officially undertakes the organisation of training, we have already begun intensive work on the detailed programme. Courses are planned to commence in autumn this year. More information on this subject shall appear shortly on our website. You are welcome to track new information as it appears!
Szkolenia nie będą miały charakteru językoznawczego - z naszego
doświadczenia wynika, że tłumacze (najczęściej posiadając już
wykształcenie filologiczne) o wiele częściej borykają się z problemami
technicznymi – obsługą CAT-ów, programów edycji tekstów, graficznych
czy innych. To na tym właśnie znamy się bardzo dobrze i tym chcemy się
podzielić! Ponadto, na specjalnie w tym celu przygotowanych
warsztatach, przedstawimy osobom marzącym o karierze w zawodzie
tłumacza problemy, pułapki i szanse związane z wkroczeniem na rynek
tłumaczeń, prowadzeniem działalności gospodarczej, współpracą z
agencjami czy wydawnictwami oraz inne praktyczne aspekty w tym zakresie.
Wspólnie z firmą STI, która oficjalnie przejmie organizację szkoleń,
rozpoczęliśmy już intensywne prace nad szczegółowym programem.
Planowane rozpoczęcie kursów to jesień tego roku. Więcej informacji na
