20th January 2010
Technical documentation seminar
Agata Woźniak and Mirosław Stasik from Logostrada took part in the
seminar introducing the subject of product documentation preparation. In
response to the invitation of the organizer, STI Company (Logostrada's sister
company dealing with typesetting, documentation and trainings), the seminar was
led by Dra. Dagmar Schwarz from Fourpeople GmbH, a company specializing in
creating product documentation and offering the full range of services to its
customers, also in consulting and training area. The seminar was also the
beginning of the official cooperation between both companies in this area on
the Polish market. Congratulations!
This all-day event was attended by representatives of companies from
industries such as production of boiler systems, industrial and construction
chemistry as well as providers for individual orders, and people interested in
backing up production companies with documentation services, including
translations. Because of that all documentation issues were considered from two
perspectives.
It turns out that producers are aware of the requirement of keeping
track of product documentation, however in practice the start of this process
in companies, because of lack of specialists, cost, difficulty, lack of
knowledge of the law etc, it is always delayed in time. Meanwhile the lack
or incorrect preparation of documentation can result in lawsuits asking for
high compensations from users, which in many cases are being granted to them by
courts.
Dra. Dagmar Schwarz is convincing us that the documentation process is
not that complicated and difficult to carry out, if the producer will get to
know the modular structure of such documentation and ways of multiple usage of
particular modules. Thanks to them, translating is getting easier, more
cohesive and less expensive
The
seminar was complemented by a speech of an attorney Radosław Ruciński on a
subject of requirements of the Polish law in this area. He emphasized the
responsibility, which the law is imposing on producers, consequences for
companies and he strenuously answered participants questions.
